Now that I have dressed up this badge a little bit by populating some gibberish for a description, added some skills, including Queen's Gambit, since we are talking about a chess badge, what we are going to do now is we're just going to take a look at what the user experience looks like when their badge is earned through a certification. So here is an example where the user has not earned this badge. As you can see, the requirement basically says this is certification that's required and this is it. And for the user who have earned it, such as Alfonso, you can see that we're going to tell them that they have completed the requirement. Now there's a few things that I want to highlight that is not there at first glance. When I click on View Badges, you'll see that the expiration date for this badge is not displayed. Even though if I come over here as administrator, if I go to the certification, which is what this is based off, if I look at Alfonso, I will see that the expiration date does exist. So this is opportunity for me to mention that when you set up a certification, when you set up a badge that's based on certification, and you are telling the system that this particular badge does expire, which is what we have set up here, right? It does expire. The system is not going to copy over the expiration date as soon as you make a change. What you will do is it's going to do it at the daily maintenance. The reason that we are delaying this is because depending on how many people have certification, the badge issuance can take a long time, and we don't want to bog down the system. So keep in mind, if you have set everything up and you come over and notice that the user's expiration date for the badge is not matching the expiration date for the certification, don't worry. The next day it will match. And my recording later is going to show the user experience when it does match. Thank you.
Video Summary
The video discusses the process of earning and displaying a chess-related badge within a certification system. The speaker explains how users can see requirements for unearned badges and the achieved status for those who have earned them, such as Alfonso. It highlights that the badge expiration date is initially not shown to users but is visible to administrators. The synchronization of expiration dates occurs during daily system maintenance to avoid performance issues. Therefore, any discrepancies in expiry dates will align correctly the next day. The speaker plans to show user experiences in future recordings.
